We got together with our friends, the founders of Little Barn Apothecary, Joshua Morgan and Brad Scoggins, for a LOVE GOODLY exclusive interview, and learn more about them. Find out how they took the complicated out of your beauty routine!
   
What inspired you to start Little Barn Apothecary
 
We both have a passion for all things natural and organic, and we enjoy the simple things in life. Prior to founding Little Barn Apothecary, Joshua worked as an executive for 16 years in the luxury beauty and spa industry in New York and Chicago. Born to two entrepreneur parents in a Southern farming community, Brad has always been passionate about the healing power of nature. He previously worked in marketing, hospitality, and brand management. Our interest in a holistic lifestyle led us to create a line of products that were uncomplicated, simple, and beautiful that people could enjoy without any fillers or toxic chemicals.
 
 
 How does social good factor into your company's mission? 
   
Chemical-laden skincare is everywhere today, and we wanted to create simple, organic formulas that were 100% safe, while leveraging the benefits and healing properties of herbs and botanicals. We also make each product label from TerraSkin – a tree-free, water-free material of rock and non-toxic resins that will eventually biodegrade under normal temperature, UV light and moisture conditions.
   
What advice do you have for other entrepreneurs?
   
When you start your own company, it becomes your whole life, especially during those first years. Look for a need in the marketplace, and focus on something you truly love. You’ll be better at your job and more excited about putting in the long hours.

What one word best describes your company?
 
Simple.
 
What is the most challenging thing about your job?
 
Sometimes an idea doesn’t translate as seamlessly to an actual finished product. For example, certain fragrance profiles might work in oil form, but the fragrance changes when we use it in candle form, because of the chemistry that happens during the burning process. That’s why we spend lots of time exploring and testing!
