The planet is a prettier place, thanks to Katie Bogue Miller and Justine Lassoff, co-founders of L.A.-based Love Goodly, a subscription service that delivers a package of curated conscious beauty and wellness products to your door every other month. “We’re really passionate about helping people discover brands that are better for you and better for the environment,” says Bogue Miller, a Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising alum and founder of four previous startups. Every box ($28 each, $30 to non-subscribers) features five to seven products—also available individually on the website—that meet 12 criteria, including cruelty-free, nontoxic, non-GMO and fair trade. “We’re extremely selective and have a strict vetting policy,” adds Lassoff, a Stanford grad and 15-year marketing veteran. The company’s mission is to find sustainable replacements for mainstream products, which “uphold our values and are also amazing and superdeluxe,” says Bogue Miller. In addition, Love Goodly gives back by partnering with charities. This year, 5 percent of every purchase is being donated to Farm Sanctuary and Cure Cervical Cancer. The concept prompted angel investor and Machinima chairman Allen DeBevoise to fund the company, which launched last fall. Followers include Alicia Silverstone, Molly Sims and Camilla Belle. “We’re really about creating a strong community behind what we’re doing and sharing how important it is to use nontoxic products,” says Lassoff. In partnership with Durrah Jewellery, the company has designed a rose-gold anniversary necklace featuring the signature Love Goodly heart. Made of recycled base metals, it will be available in August/September boxes.
